Appearance : A low plant, about 15 cm tall, with narrow leaves and blue flowers.
Favorite environment : Dry meadows, heaths and sparse forests.
Distribution : Common from Skåne to central Sweden.
Flowering time : June – August.
Fruit and seeds : The seeds are often dispersed by ants.
Characteristics : The small blue flowers in spikes.
Close relatives : Hedjungfrulin, topjungfrulin.
Fun to know : The flower has been called “birdwort” because it resembles a small bird.
