Appearance : A low creeping forest plant with thin stems and small rounded leaves. From the stem rise thin peduncles with two small pink bell-shaped flowers.
Favorite environment: Coniferous forest.
Distribution : Common in coniferous forests throughout the country.
Flowering time : Around midsummer.
Fruit and seed : The fruit has sticky hairs that get caught in the fur of small animals and spread.
Characteristics : The two small nodding flowers on each stem.
Close relatives : Honeysuckle, forest thuja.
Fun to know : The flower is named after Carl Linnaeus and was his favorite flower.
