Appearance : A well-known spring flower that grows in lush green stands with bright yellow flowers. The flowers have five petals and are about 2.5 cm wide.
Favorite environment : Wetlands, marshes and along streams and lake shores.
Distribution : The entire country from Skåne to Lapland.
Flowering time : May – June.
Fruit and seed : The pistils develop into seed capsules with many seeds.
Characteristics : The shiny yellow flowers and the large leaves.
Close relatives : Buttercup, buttercups, columbine.
Fun to know : In the past, people picked the flower buds and ate them like "capers".
